Falcons Eric Weems Named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month

One week after being named as a Special Teamer for the 2011 NFL Pro Bowl, Atlanta Falcons special teams ace Eric Weems has been name NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for December.
Weems averaged 30.9 yards per kickoff return in December and he both a kickoff and a punt return for touchdowns.
Weems is the only player in the NFC to record both a kickoff return and punt return for a touchdown this season. He is also the first player in Falcons history to achieve that accomplishment.
One of Weems returns was a Falcons record 102-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Week 13 over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Weems also had a 55-yard punt return for a touchdown in the season finale against the Carolina Panthers.
Weems is more then just a return man for special teams as he is also a big contributor on coverage teams for the Falcons as well.
